Guarding Road Safety: Liu He Welcomes New 8.55-Ton Forklift Transporter, Advancing ESG Commitments
While forklifts are indispensable for warehouse and factory operations, driving them on public roads poses a severe, hidden threat to motorcyclists and pedestrians due to their sharp, exposed forks and lack of license plates.
To address this persistent road hazard, Liu He has resolutely enforced a "Zero Forklifts on Public Roads" policy since 2019, serving as a core practice of the "S" (Social) pillar in the company's ESG initiatives. At the start of the policy, Liu He purchased a Mercedes-Benz 43-ton Actros heavy-duty tractor paired with a low-bed semi-trailer to transport forklifts. On June 11 of this year, the transport fleet welcomed a new member—a custom-retrofitted Fuso Canter 8.55-ton truck, dedicated to transporting single forklifts. This new vehicle enhances dispatch flexibility and further seals the safety net of the "Zero Forklifts" policy.
【Embedding Safety in Every Design Detail】
The custom forklift transporter features meticulous safety upgrades. The rear is equipped with a double hydraulic cylinder "mantis arm" loading system for smooth loading and unloading, secured by four safety pins when retracted. The bed is covered with wear-resistant, non-slip flooring and features wheel chocks and bullnose hooks to guarantee that forklifts remain securely in place during transit.
【A Warm Implementation of ESG: Safety is Non-Negotiable】
"Public safety and road safety are absolutely non-negotiable," stated Wu Haoyu, Vice President of Liu He.
Although enforcing the "Zero Forklifts" policy and purchasing dedicated transporters will increase operational costs, Liu He remains steadfast in its commitment to public safety. In response to climate change, Liu He also plans to introduce electric forklifts to reduce carbon emissions and expects to publish its first sustainability report by the end of this year.
Every safe transit is a silent pledge Liu He makes to society. From the Actros to the Canter, though vehicle sizes and dispatch needs change, Liu He's dedication to road safety remains unwavering.
